A Beginners Guide to Yoga Exercise Videos
Life has never been crazier and more stressful than in 2010, but most of that stress is unnecessary and can easily be reduced or eliminated by simply working out with Yoga exercise videos. Added stress and tension can create all sorts of problems including increased fatigue, moody emotions, weight gain and even back pain. Now, doesn't it make sense to do Yoga if it can either reduce or eliminate your stress and make you feel stronger and have more energy?
What exactly is Yoga? Many believe call it the mind/body/spirit workout, which means it brings all your senses together to make them work in unison, making the body have to work half as hard to do the same task. Mental clarity is also a wonderful side effect of practicing Yoga – so you can make decisions with more ease. Even though it is perfectly OK to do Yoga without any equipment, many people prefer to use a Yoga sticky mat to make the postures easier to hold and provide comfort when in a seated position.
If you are a beginner, to either Yoga or to exercise, this is a perfect place for you to start, since the environment is so "inclusive" and welcoming – you are sure to be at ease right away! Many people new to Yoga or working out would be to try a workout video, this way you can try a variety of different formats and see what you prefer.
Many people start with Hatha Yoga because of its gentle nature and because it is gentle and uses basic, easy to follow poses while others prefer Vinyasa Yoga which uses Sun Salutations along with a series of breathing patterns. If improved posture and good alignment is important to you, consider tying Iyengar Yoga. And lastly, if you want to focus on the breathing side of Yoga, I would recommend trying Kundalini Yoga which focuses much of the effects of breath, also called prana (meaning energy). There are many other wonderful Yoga options, the point is to try one or two different formats and find one that feels right to you and start to turn some of your stress into a positive stream of energy that you can actually use in a productive way.
Starting a new exercise program can be challenging, but know that with continued, regular practice, Yoga will become the best part of your day while it provides you with a well-deserved break from a busy day. Is it time? Have you waited long enough? Why not grab an exercise video and start practicing Yoga today.
